What Are Your Favourite 'Sales' Movies?

Following our post regarding Sales Movies last month, a friend suggested that I ask readers of this blog for their recommended Sales Movies.

So we invite your recommendations of movies about sales, or movies that have examples of sales situations in them. To suggest a movie, post a comment with the details of the movie and what examples of sales are in it, by clicking on 'comments' below.

Tin Men for the entertainment,

GlenGarry GlenRoss for the insight into different selling styles, and how hard it was without technology,

Jerry Maguire - for the inspiration and lessons from the old boss.

Working in the car industry, I found 'Cadillac Man' with Robin Williams amusing. It over-exaggerates a lot of aspects of the industry but shows some interesting aspects of sales, good and bad.

In the movie, it appears that Joey (Robin Williams) wants to be loved and he uses sales to try and 'connect' with people and I have found a lot of salespeople get into sales with similar motivations.

"Glengarry Glenross" is a movie that shows beautifully some of the common character types you meet in sales. The nasally whining "give us the GOOD leads" salespeople, the make-it-happen salespeople, the aggressive excess-testosterone bosses, the confused customer, and others.

It also shows how much politics can affect a sales team and the results they get.

The cast is unbelievable: Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris, and lots more.
